After moving from one building to another and re-installing our 6X16 (NT5B01-30DBG04) we are experiencing a pulsating line tone when depressing any of the line buttons. Set 21 (default phone) seems to experience the noise less than any other set, though the pulsating tones are still audible.

The only thing different is that the system is installed near a NMF PC580 security box. Though turning all power off to the security system has no effect on to the pulsating tones.

Any clues?

check each line going into the 6x16 with a plain telepphone by unplugging it from the 6x16 and connecting it to a plain phone.

Jerry,

I had already checked each line out with an analog phone, and their clean as a whistle. Any other suggestions...

Thanks,

Ron

No I have no other thoughts, I was kind of thinking that you might be double tapped on the CO's but I guess not.

take a close look for other interference sources such as older flouresent lighting, radios, etc.

Move the KSU. Check wiring. Only things you can do.

Could be dirty power do you have a good UPS?? Also you could put some line filters on the incoming C.O.s before it goes in to the ksu.Another possible thing is the ksu memory lost because the capacitors are to old to hold the current programming and reset the programming to default there fore causing pulse dailing insted of dtfm tones?Just some possible thoughts

Another possible answer to your promblem as has been suggested by some of the other posts. For sure have your wiring checked by a good tester like say a fluke dsp4300.It will do a tonne of tests and will verify attenuation is not outside acceptable limits.Another promblem could be the outside cabling may be causing the promblem as well.Your local telco should be able to verify this.you probably would have verify first that it is not the norstar ksu or inside cabling then appoach you dail tone provider.if indeed it is any of this
