Pulling Top 5 Records

I am trying to make my report pull only the top 5 records. There are many more records, but I just want the top 5 to show on the report. How do you do this? thanks

Try this:

SELECT TOP 5 FROM Tablename.

Perhaps you need to sort one or more columns so that the appropriate 5 records are returned. Otherwise, providing a bit more information as to what isn't working will be helpful.

So in the query that the report is based on you used a query that said:

SELECT TOP 5 FROM TABLENAME

and it showed you more than 5 records in your report?

What happens if you run that query in the query designer?

Nope, doesn't work.

This does not tell us anything. Please be specific on what kind of error are you getting or how is it not working, So that we can suggest you in the right direction.
