Hi. Our company is starting to implement Cognos 7. We just finished our first batch of reports in Impromptu and sent them to our "publishing team" to put them on Upfront. The reports are displayed as Adobe Acrobat files. When they finish running, we loose some of the formatting (which turned our good-looking reports into poor-looking reports). Anyone else ever experience this? Our reports require excessive formatting due to the business rules.

Thanks!

Are you using any custom formatting Styles? If so, you must add them to the Impromptu.ini on the IWR server for them to appear there.

Are you using IWR to deploy your reports to the web, or just saving your Impromptu Reports as .pdf files and publishing them.

What's being dropped, conditional formatting? or is your specing being skewed?

You're printer drivers are what is used to render a pdf, ensure that your production environment uses the same ones as your dev environment. Also ensure that they are up to date.

Unfortunately my department has no control over the Upfront server. We just submit the IMR files to our publication team (which is in a different geographic location). We are not using any custom formatting styles.

I think it is getting messed up during conversion to the pdf format. I will forward this information on to our publication people.

Thanks for all fo the help!

Hi guys!
Even i am facing the same problem, actually we are migrating the stuff from 6 to 7. There is a report which has horizontal bar graph in a chart frame. Now the situation is something like this, I run the imr in 6.0 and save it as pdf, here the pdf looks good and the chart looks as in the imr. But same report when i open in 7.0 and upgrade it the height of the bars in the chart frame increase to almost double and ofcourse the pdf also has the same effect. Can anyone suggest something to fix it.

Thanks in advance.
