Hi everyone,
I would like to publish reports onto Crystal Enterprise 10, without deleting it's history [previously ran reports under History tab]. I found this thread thread782-270580 and the response was not clear. Can anyone suggest any idea on how to publish it onto Enterprise?

Thanks for all your help

Move the rpt copy straight in Input repository. Loot tha path of report in the properties tab in CMC and then move the copy physically to that location.

Make sure to take the backup of existing rpt copy.

Isnt that so very backdoor. ? That is a grouse I have with XI. Anything that you want to have done (which is mostly commonsense) is usually a backdoor fix :)

I am sorry.. I am just venting.. Had a few lousy days in a row dealing with the BO tech support.

Wel, techie2, the problem here is we have only access to publish report thru Enterprise CMC and cannot directly access Production server. If we could, i could directly use Publishing WIZARD and i think that'll not delete History. Anyway, I was wondering if there is any way i can publish report from CMC and set an option not to delete history. It's been a great headache for us when dealing with customers. Any changes to Report definition and all the history is gone.

But, thanks for your advice, I'll ask my admin to try that route and see if they areok doing that.

Thanks again,

There is no other way I know of. You dont need access to production server. If they can let you map the Input and Output directories, you should be good.

About publishing wizard, it is client side tool. Move the exe to your computer and you can use it from the workstation you are working on.

Is Publishing Wizard a client tool? I did not know that. We have it on the server. Now,Can I just take that exe and put it on my PC? that's cool . I'll try that. If there is more to it other than just gettign EXE, please letme know.
Thanks, for all your help.

As far as my understanding goes, YES.

Try it out and let us know how it goes.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but as the 'not clear' thread says, you just open your report in Crystal Reports and click File > Save As and select "Enterprise". If you don't have the Save to Enterprise option then you might need a patch or a later version of the software. The initial version of CR 9 didn't come with Save to Enterprise because CE 9 wasn't ready until after CR 9 was released, not sure if that's the case for CR 10 as well.

I think that CR 9 did have the save to Enterprise, it was CR 8.5 that required the patch as it came out before that option existed.

Use the Save As, select the Enterprise icon in the lower left, log on to your CE server, and save over the top of the existing report.

You'll need to reset the database and parameters for it, but it will retain the history and scheduling.
