Our communications specialist has always used Arial Black in Publisher because it is part of our national organization branding, but now suddenly last week, she changed one word in a document to italics rather than normal and it changed her Arial Black normal fonts throughout all her publications to italics as well as no longer letting her use a normal Arial Black font. Does anyone have a clue how to get Arial Black normal available again in Publisher 2007. This is the one office product I am not very familiar with, but when I looked in my own Office Publisher, I also had only the italics version. Thank you for any help you can give.

There is a non-italic version. Could it be that there is a style applied to the text?

Thank you JP. The fonts folder does show both versions but one is OpenType and one TrueType. As it happens I was able to locate to blogs that gave me the answer I needed. What happened was that at about the same time her problem occurred, I had updated her computer to Windows Service Pack 3, and for some reason the Arial Black font was updated in that update from version 2.35 to 2.40. The 2.40 is the same one used in Windows Vista where it works just fine in regular mode, but in Windows XP it does not, it only supplies an italized version, so the solution is to:
1.) delete the new version from the Fonts folder, (C:\\WINDOWS\Fonts)
2.) Copy the old version from the C:\\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUnistall$ folder (which you may have to unhide, I did),
3.) Paste into the Fonts folder at C:\\WINDOWS\Fonts.
This works perfectly to fix the problem.
