Public Outgoing Line Identity (OLI) / COLP Issue

Hi All!

Here's a fun one for you all :) I have a BCM50 R1 with a BRI-ST (Not a BRI-ST4) here in the UK. Region and such all set right, and talking happily to the network for calls in/out.

Manglement want to present a number midway through our DDI range, I have the Public OLI on the sets in question set to a 6-digit number (though 5 and 4 digits make no difference). Inbound DNIS works fine (I'm matching the 6-digit number fine to a target line). but it refuses to present it to the outside world. Just comes up as the main (billing) number.

My IDSN30 BCM R2 works fine with doing this, but this one refuses to work! Can anyone shed any light? I'm tearing my head out, and I *know* BT will bloody well blame the switch!

Usually you have to ask the CO,Phone company to allow it to be sent.
 
Yep, we've had COLP turned off and back on a few times, to no avail. They reckon the DDI range is set right too. How can I ensure the BCM is set right?

If you have the OLI set you should be good, can you have BT capture a call or use BCM Monitor to see what you're sending to them?
 
Are the ISDN 2 lines set to point - point
It they are multi line then the numbers are presented as msn.

Right, what you've said makes *some* sense to me, but not a huge amount.

The ISDN2's are a pair of Lines, so 4 channels on a single number (with a block of 10 DDI's).

My Loops (which I think is where I need to be looking) says that each Loop (501-504) are Type: T, Protocol: Euro, Sampling: N/A, ONN Blocking: Service code
Clock Source is Secondary external. Protocol type is S-T user with Overlap receiving set to false.

In Physical lines, (065-068) Trunk Type is set to BRI-ST.

Aha,

"DDIs are applied to ISDN lines operating in point-to-point configuration (also known as 'system access' or 'T reference point configured lines'). You should check that your equipment supports this."

So looks like it's set correctly...

From the chat that we have just had, it sounds as if the line provider has made your billing number the outgoing CLID and there isn't anything you can do on the BCM to over ride it. I think you need to get them to allow the DDI CLID to be sent.

You tend to know when things are getting easier to follow is when you see the first number of the DDI range being displayed as this indicates that you can start to make changes to your OLI in order to get the correct digits to be sent.

Yep - thanks for that David. Still tearing my hair out at it, supposedly openwoe have adjusted something at the exchange, but still no joy. I reckon what you suggested will be right. Makes sense at least!

Right, we've found the problem - the config on lines 3&4 wasn't right at the exchange - and as the BCM dials out on the highest line number, this was going out on a circuit with the config that was wrong! All fixed now, and I had it all programmed right which is a relief :)
