Our Marketing department would like to set up a calendar in a public folder that would list all Marketing events. No problem. However, they would additionally like to invite various internal users to each event and track responses.

When we just setup a public calendar, create a meeting and invite attendees, when we go to save we get a message saying responses will not be tallied since this calendar is not in your main calendar folder.

All we want to do is have a public calendar that can invite attendees and track responses. Can anyone help us get that setup?

Thanks.

We have Outlook, that's why I posted in the Microsoft Office forum. And I know we can create a public calendar, we have several up and running. The issue is being able to track responses to meeting invites from the public calendar. If you know how to do that I would love to hear the details.

Thanks in advance.

The best I've been able to do, is set it up and add a moderator. The moderator will receive notices of the new mail going to the public calendar.

The calendar will not show whether the addendees have accepted, declined, etc. though.

The only way I've found to track this, is by going into the meeting and viewing the "scheduling" tab. If the servers are set up to allow detail to be viewed, it will show who on the list is scheduled for what meeting.

I don't think the it will do what you're asking without some sort of 3rd party program.
