There is a program called "screen" for Red Hat Linux that enables users that loose a network connection to get their same pts number back when reconnecting, thus enabling not to loose were they were in an application.

Is there any such thing for Windows 2003?

Is it related to the terminal you are using or file system?

Sharing the best from my side...

The "pts" number is the network id, as opposed to a "tty" on a serial connection that is assigned when someone connects to the server. Basically I want to keep the same process id assigned to a user when the network connection dies.

If your users are connecting via Terminal Services then they should reconnect to their session.
