Hi,

I'm trying to get a gateway that sits between the router and ip phone and detects if the phone is trying to dial locally or emergencey services and if so send the call via a PSTN line connected to it.

I found something called a Mediatrix 1204 which seems to fit the bill but has anyone ever had to do this with the Avaya before and if so what product did you use and were there any difficulties i should be aware of??

Thanks guys,

Graham

i have never tried this usually i let the customer of the remote ip phone know that when they need to dial 911 to use a fax or other analog line in the house. also we sometimes usually end up pointing a SOE in a remote site if having more then a few ip phones to help with this problem and for remote survivablity

Yes the problem is though that the company had already started this project before i arrived to work for them. They have 9 sites scattered around with about 4 ip phones in each. It would be to much of an expense and effort causing the customer to ask why the previous tech hadn't already thought of this.
I have to resolve it with the gateway but i'll post my finding on here if you fancie trying it out too. Thanks for your post.......
