The registry default is 20 gigabytes.

The registry default can be raised...this article asserts that there is a "theoretical" 33 terrabyte size limit.
That's a lot of archived mail.

What is the impact of trying to open a 20GB file on a desktop/laptop processor ( 1.6GHz) with 512MB of RAM? Is the same true of OST files? The real impact is not addressed in this article.
