Hi,
Is there a way to detect the presence of a PST file in an Office configuration? The solution of searching for *.pst on the drive is not possible in my case.
Is there a registry key that stores informations on PST? Or is there a file that Outlook managed for this?
Thanks for your help!

This solution would take too much time. Hundreds PCs must be analyzed...
I would need a quick way to determine if a user has a PST file configured or not.

Weel you will be faster checking the obvious locations of PST files then to go through every Registry.
PST tend to put themselves in 'standard' folders, so the check is very limited.

ok, but I will obviously miss those that have not been created in the default location...
How does outlook know that a pst file is configured? In which config file is that stored?
Thanks for your help

Hello There

If you cannot see the PST files on the computer then you need to change file attributes to show all files.

tools folder options and veiw to all, you will then see all PST files and will be able to use *.PST including OST

You may need to log on as administrator to allow access to others users folders
