Hello,
I'm looking for some help with some steps I am taking in PSP XI editing specific images.
I am starting off with high quality images, no noice, very white background.
Here is a link to a page with two images on it:
sql.whimbeads.com/chaintesthelp.html

In image #1 these were my steps:
Smart Photo Fix
0, -10, 10, 18, 40
Reduce image by 70%
Brightness 5 + Contrast 5
Unsharpen Mask 30, 20
.jpg Optimize at 5

In image #2 all steps were the same except I reduced the image first, then proceeded with the next steps.

My problem is that I am not able to keep serious amounts of .jpg noise from appearing in the images. Anyway to stop that? Reduce it? Or remove it? (I have over 2000 images of similar product that need to be altered.

TIA for any help,
Beki

Adjust\ Add/Remove Noise\ JPEG ... might help a little, but I guess your final images are too small to look good.

What do they look like if you just do the size reduction, with no other processing and no compression?

Perhaps it would be handy if you put the originals online.

(The background isn't white, by the way.)

There's also the Export as Jpeg feature in PSP. That you can use to adjust compression of the Jpeg. that way you can get a satisfactory look of the image in a small enough size.

I'll second PedalSteel, and say that maybe if you post the original images we can help further and find a reduction and compression ratio that works better for the images.

I also agree the background is not white.
