Recently installed PSP 7.04 on WIndows ME using mustek 1200UB usb scanner. whenever i try to aqquire image (after selecting source) i get psp caused error in kernel32.dll and will close. I have tried un/reinstall psp, latest scanner drivers but with no success. Has anyone suffered anything like this, help appreciated

I had the same type of problem with an HP ScanJet 4100C. It would not do it everytime, but it would do it some times. That was on Windows 95. When I upgraded to Windows 98 it stopped doing that.

Have you un-installed and re-installed both the scanner software and PSP? It is possible that a .dll file has been corrupted by a recent download or by some other reason. Jasc would probably have you edit your registry so when PSP loads, it will think it is a first load and everything should be set back to normal. I've seen the instructions, it is not easy, and messing with your registery should not be taken lightly. That being said, I suggest you contact Jasc with the problem.

Maybe someone else will have a better suggestion.

Thanks, I have tried all suggested. JASC reply was to Scandisk and Defrag but no joy. I think it is something to do with Windows ME/Twain/Mustek drivers but as I have downloaded lastet driver drom Mustek I am running out of clues. I only get kernel32.dll error from PSP when trying to aquire twain source. I can scan via Twain through IRFANVIEW and Imaging.
