If I'm making a press-ready PDF, is there any advantage to placing my images in ID as TIFFs rather than PSDs?

Just curious - thanks!

If you can't see any difference, neither will anyone else.

InDesign's PDF export (or print to PDF) does not care what image formats are put into it. The output will be the same.

You will only notice a small difference during the creation of the PDF file. PSD files with transparency will require slightly more time to distill than a flattened TIFF.
