i've recently started a job after finishing Uni. one of my tasks is to network several computers together, to share resources, i.e. printer. Which i've done, the pc's r connected through NIC's into the connection unit.

the printer works fine, however i want to enable other pc's to share the internet connection of one of them. I tried to set internet connection settings of a pc to use LAN and the internet pc as a proxy server, i typed in the IP and subnet mask detials and the ping works fully.

however, a server \ DNs error appears when i try to get online. do you need any spectal proxy s.ware?? any tips would be apeciated, or suggestiosn as to how to do this.

thanks in advance, Parm

You will have to point the machine that you set to LAN. To use the ip address of the proxy server in your browser. If you are using Ie, that setting is in Tools, Internet options, Connections, Lan settings, and they type the proxy address and port in. What software are you using for your proxy?

hi

first install Ms proxy 2.0 and on the internet machine. is the internet machine NT or W2k. after installation is over it will create a shared folder in network neighbourhood called mspclnt open this folder from the client machines and open this folder and run the set up file it to install the client. restart when it prompts then go to control panel u will find a icon WSP client. Double click it and click update it will prompt for restart windows, click it and it will log off and log on.

that's it u will get access on the clients.
