Proxy Connection Failed

Some users are suddenly having trouble logging in to Citrix programs. Yesterday it was fine. Now, some are logging in no problem, but others are getting the error message "Cannot connect to the Citrix Metaframe Server". Proxy connection failed. The configured proxy server refused to establish connection".
Any suggestions?

I just ran into this issue today after installing the latest Citrix client on some machines (10.15). In my case, it was caused by the proxy server settings in Internet Explorer. I went to "Tools", "Internet Options", "Connections", "LAN Settings" then "Advanced".

In the Exemptions box, I entered the subnet where our Citrix web server resides and it then connected right up.
