Dear raid specialists,

I recently bought a proware dp-500-AA :

It can contain 5 sata hard disks.

I just want to use it in JBOD, but i cant't seem to get it working,
just one of the hd's is visible om my computer, the one in the first
slate... The machine finds all 5 five, but the computer only one

Has someone experience with this problem? Please help me, because i'm becoming crazy...

The raid array is conected to my computer with a e-sata cable

Thanks in advance

A desperate man

Well, did you go into the setup menu and turn on jbod by turning off raid? Kind of an expensive and overkill way to get 5 more hard drives, the idea to use raid is to make the system redundant so you can have some protection of the data, jbod has no protection which defeats the whole reason to purchase a raid system. You could have done this so much cheaper just to get 5 more hard drives.

Hallo
I am interested in the same box by the same shop, did you solve the problem? Is it working satisfactorily?
The shop is sling it for around 100 euro, that's costing more or less as 5 enclosures, withe the convenience to be able to take it away more easily (I want to have an off-site backup).
Thanks for any info
