Hi Experts,
How do I protect fields in MicroSoft Word. I've Word 97.
I've to protect some fields in the document and make some fields editable. I mean for example the first line I've in
my document is as follows:

Customer Name : - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Now the Customer Name should be a Protected Field and no one should be able to type over it. And the customer should be only able to enter his name in the dashes area.
Only the dashes area should be editable.
Please advise.
Thanks
K

Thanks, but can you be more specific.. I opened the word document and I could not find where I can use "Fomr Fields" and Field Lock?

OK, I got the form tool bar. Now If I click the Lock there, it is protecting the entire document. I do not want to protect the entire document and instead I want to protect only some fields and the remaining fields should be editable just as i explained above.
thanks
