How can i password protect my second hard drive (d)
whilst allowing full use of drive (c)
Any help would be great !

John

First question, what OS are you running? Second are you trying to prevent access from a user sitting at your machine or connecting over a network?

Hi

I am using Win98se and wish to stop other users from accessing the second drive D which is a seperate drive not a partition.
Any help much appreciated

Thanks in advance

John

If you are talking about users sitting at your machine and browsing your drives, there is no built-in way to do this. Win98 does not have any local security. This means you can prevent users from accessing your drive over a network connection but anyone who sits at your machine has total access to your machine. The best option is to upgrade to a professional OS (Win2000pro/WinXP pro). There also may be third party programs that could allow you to lock certain directories on your second drive.

You can hide the drive letter from explorer - tweakui has this function (you could unhide it for you own use). Obviously no good if other users know the drive is there and know about tweakui.
