Hi,

I can see the Apache start page and my own pages fine from 127.0.0.1, but when I try to access my computer from my external IP (67.173.62.105), I get a username and password prompt. Here's the message that I get: Enter username and password for "Linksys BEFSR41v3 at . I've checked over and over again, and I know that this is the right IP address. Does anyone know if there's a default username and password? I remember seeing something about that, but now I can't find it.

Thanks,
--Mike

This message indicates that when you attempt to reach your Apache server using your routable IP address, your reaching your router instead. You'll need to set up port forwarding so that http requests pass through your router to your Apache server.

Each router configuration is different, so your best bet is to check your router's documentation.

Wishdiak is correct. You need to setup port forwarding. This also means that the server needs to be taken out of the dhcp pool and given an assigned (static) ip. You want it to be on the same subnet as the router so if the router's lan ip is 192.168.1.1, then the server can be 192.168.1.10. One more thing to remember is that if the server has its own firewall, you must open the ports you will be forwarding to it.
