Hello Everyone,

I have a question about setting up a prompt during boot-up of an AIX server. Let me give a little history:

We were having an issue with a processor. The processor was replaced along with the motherboard. Once the server came up, it reset the date to Dec 31,1969. Once I realized the date I changed it to make it current. When the date was made current, some license files went corrupt. Is there a way to prompt the server (only on a hardware change) to ask for a date during the boot-up?

Open firmware has some provisions of a kind,
You can bring up a shell at bootup,
Or even smitty

But for more persistent results
yo can reinstall licenece files/numbers
