Trying to set up prompt based queue.
It is a littl confusing as to what I have to do.
Do I have to provide an external source of message/music to notify the caller that they can press # to leave a message or is there an internal message in the Magix that I can use to let the caller know?

There's nothing on the Magix itself. You can either hook-up an external digital announcer to a tip/ring port or you may be able to create an announcement using Intuity and point it to that (I'm not that versed in Intuity- I know you can do a similair thing with Merlin Messaging).

On Merlin Messaging 2.5 and above you can use the last four ports for delay announcements and also for a prompt.

We are just setting up our Magix 3/Intuity 5 system. In Audix, I created sub 601 as COS 1 (AA). I then route line 7231 to 601. In Sub 601, you can assign what you want the caller to do, by pressing what number. We have 1 going to sales, 2 to support. 1 is a transfer to queue 771. 2 is a transfer to 772. (After creating sub 771 and 772, and giving them a COS of I can't remember, but if you type in a number and tab, it will display what it does, you want Transfer) Then dial into your Audix voicemail, use extension 601, record a greeting, telling the customer what buttons to push to do whatever. I'm not sure about the link between the Audix and the Magix, we did have a professional do that installation. Hopefully some of this helps.

Thank you. I'll give it a try to see how it works out.
I think that I can set it up.

Easiest, cheapest ==> Go to Best Buys or similar, and get a couple of DIGITAL answering machines, and assign them to a T/R port. Set them to ANNOUNCE ONLY, and on their announcements, tell them that they cam opt out to voicemail by pressing the # key. Set the PBX to prompted overflow, and have it overflow to voicemail box numbered the same as the calling group.
