I am planning to upgrade the local hard disk from 9G to 145G. I wonder whether it is supported by the Proliant 8500.
Following is the information from Compaq Array Configuration Utility:-
Bus interface: 32-Bit PCI
Slot Number: Embedded
Hardware Revision: A
Firmware Version: 1.32
Rebuild Priority: Low

Thanks!!!!
Ronald

I would assume it depends on the drive cage and the RAID controller. Chances are that if you have 9.1Gb disks at the moment, the drive cage is not compatible with the newer-style disks. Also, you will probably have to upgrade the RAID controller as a result so it can cope with the newer disks (which are usually Ultra320 disks)

Thanks for your quick reponse! It looks that the chance is low .

If the 8500 doesn't support the bigger harddisk, I would propose to replace the server instead... its because the 8500 is quite slow.
