Nice simple one for anyone.

I attach an icon to my VFP 6.0 project, but it still shows the Fox icon in windows explorer. Everything else is OK.

It only seems to do this since I changed PC's for any new projects I create.

?

Thanks

Hi,

I had the same problem. Right click on the project manager window, select project info, make sure that the attach icon is checked and that you icon shows in the icon window.

If you are pointing to the project file in the options then the Icon should be used even for the exe file.

Hope this works.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I cannot find any ImagEdit files on my machine at all. I assume it is part of the SDK installation?

By the way....my icon is a 32x32, 256 colours image.

Imagedit.exe does not install by default, if I remember correctly, so you may need to search your installation CDs for it.

If you use Delphi, there is a better alternative also named imagedit.exe, you could use the image editor from Visual C++, or I expect you will find freeware/shareware versions on the net. HTH

when using the image edit, does the icon want to be 32x32 and 16 colours?

Blind Pete mentioned "Is the icon 16x16 and 32x32?"

What exact format do I need?

Thanks guys

You need both a 32 x 32 image and and a 16 x 16 image in the same icon file.

If you are creating an icon from scratch, by default they are either 2 or 16 colours, so 16 colours will do. HTH

I never knew that about icons storing two different sizes.

Thanks, you learn something new every day.

Cheers.
