Project allocates times in reverse? Newbie

Hi all:

I apologize for what may very well be my own ignorance. I am new to MS Project 2002 and I am having a problem, so I hope someone can help. I have a task that starts on 11/28 and ends 11/29. The duration of this task is 14hrs. Why does project assign the 6 hours of work time on 11/28 and 8 hours on 11/29...shouldn't it be the reverse? How do I change this? Thanks in advance!!

Look under Task Info, Advanced Tab, is your constraint "as late as possible" rather than defaulting to "as soon as possible"?
