I'm trying to save a MS Project 2000 project via ODBC in an Oracle database. Saving operation is ok.
Retrieving the project with Oracle 8.1.6 ODBC driver i get an error 'Restricted data type attribute violation'.
This does not happen with Microsoft ODBC Driver for Oracle.
Can you help me to understand the problem ?

We are having the same problem. I do have a couple machines it does work on. I will do some more research, but does anyone have any idea?

We exactly had the same problem.

Our Solution:
Don't use the (fast) Oracle ODBC driver in the "Create new data source dialog", choose here the (slooow) "Microsoft ODBC for Oracle" driver (requires the Oracle client software, too).

Yes, that was the trick. Are you joking about the driver ? My impression is that Microsoft one is faster.....

We had the same problem after upgrading from Oracle 7.1 to 8.1.7, it occurs if you have number colums with any NULL data.

If you want to use the Oracle driver, try setting
Prefetch count to 0 or 1 in the ODBC driver setup.

This is documented by Oracle as a fault in the OCI.
