Am trying to setup a custom menu to simplify our production users getting to the different modules in Macola that they need access to.

Is it possible to just copy the modules to the left side of the screen without the different Modules Folders and sub folders? EG> Without showing the heiarchy of IM, Maintain, View, TRX and Process.

As an example would like to just have Inventory Transactions, Multi Level view applets appear on the left side of the screen.

Have looked thru the help file and find it pretty weak without any good examples.

Can anyone stear me on a simple setup process?

Thanks In Advance

Personally, I would use the tabs in PWE and create one with just the shortcuts that they will need. You then can export the tab and import it into other users as you see fit.

The answer is no. The first level of the menu on the left of Progression Explorer and Workflow Explorer is defined by the license file installed on the system. You can not create a top level menu item.

The best way to accomplish your goal is to create shortcuts by dragging the menu items from the menu on the left to the shortcuts list in Progression Explorer or Progression Workflow Explorer. Workflow Explorer provides the added benifit of allowing you to create the shortcut list once and distribute to the other users who need it.

Respectfully my answer is yes, I've done it.
It is done through "Visual Menu Builder" under "Systems Manager" then Maintain".
While you have to have at least one main menu like "Inventory Management" (which you can rename to anything you want by selecting properties) and at least one sub menu under it (which you can rename to anything you want). You can mix the modules under the one sub menu to be from any of the main modules OE or PO or IM etc. and you can also rename THEM to anything you want.

Just create a user named "production" and another user named "test" to experiment with. Once the user "production" is created create a group named "production" from the user "production" and add the user "test" to the group. Next "customize" one of the modules (ie. IMMENU) for your new group named "production".

Though something can be done doesn't mean it should. I don't think it's worth the time and effort when there are simpler and less time intensive solutions like the multi tab feature with Progression Workflow Explorer.

Thanks for all the input.

Guess I agree with Kevin as we had done this prior to our problem and now all users profiles based on the renaming of another Module with custom applets now has many problems that effects many users after upgrading to 7.6.400.

Tried to use the transport feature and had many problems with Transporting, the tab transported ok but then the shortcuts did not work and spawned errors when signed in under the new user.

Will probably head in the direction of creating a new user then transforming them to a group and recreate all our users based on the new group menu.

I sure wish Exact would create a more modern System Layer that would be more efficient with this process.

Thank you for all your help and suggestions.
