Hi Everyone, I am a newbie and not a programmer but in sales. I need help please !!!!!!.

For cost reasons some of our customers want to run our application that has been developed in Progress DB4? on LINUX and MySQL. To run this application on Microsofts SQL, one aparrently needs a "Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise DataServer" which costs almost the same as the Progress Database itself.

Is there an opensource "DataServer" out there somewhere that can they can use? or any other way around this problem?

Regards
Murtu

First of all MYSQL and Microsoft's SQL server are 2 completely different things.

With that said, MYSQL is free under certain circumstances, I suggest you visit the MYSQL website and read the Terms under which it is free, to see if your clients fit under them.
