Programs close in the middle of typing

Ok. I am running xp pro at home. For some reason, while typing, all of the sudden all my running programs (mozilla, aim and such) just close. AVG will stay running though.
This is a recent thing. I have run spyware checks (my computer is pretty well protected) and nothing comes up.
Does anyone else have this problem and know how it can be fixed ?

The only thing I could think of was a sticking key on the keyboard that allowed a shortcut to shut all open windows which is shift+alt+F4

However, it would be almost impossible to accomplish this feat unless it is the F4 key that is sticking and you inadvertently pressed the alt and shift at the same time.

Just wanted to bring it up because I know there are keyboard shortcut keys.

The WINDOWS KEY and M also minimizes everything to the taskbar, but doesn't actually close the program.

I feel kind of stupid. What was causing it was that someone had set the computer to do small memory dumps. So it was closing everything whenever it dumped. I turned them off, and I havent had a problem since.
Thanks for your help though.
