Programming with Exchnage 2000

Hi!
I have a job to search about creating out own voice mail system for our upcoming soft switch. I was just wondering if any one knows how to work with/ program exchange 2000 to somehow combine the email system and voice mail box into one. I dont know, i was reading cisco's unity which is their solution for a unified messaging system and they use exchange 2000 and sql server 2000 together to create and maintain voice mail inbox. I was wondering if any one has any clue about where i could get sufficient information, including books which might talk about programming with exchange server... and if some one has this kind of expericne, if they could give me some hints it would be awesome. thanx a ton.

I work with Cisco Unity some time and it´s work fine. Only you have to take care with the restrictions and what kind of solutions do you need. Only voice mail (unity+exchange+msde/sql in the same server) or uniffied messaging (unity+msde/sql in the same server) integrated with microsoft exchange.

I use Viewmail with my NEC IPK system. It has proven to take a beating & provides alot of features. I hope this helps. Let us know your results!
