Programming the feature buttons

I am having difficulty getting an empty feature button to accept function 986 (transfer to voicemail). I've tried putting in the function code directly (i.e., typing 986), but the 9 does not register. I've tried using the "find" function but as I go through the list, I do not see one for transfer to voicemail. Any help is appreciated.

You must press F*3 then the button you want to program then F986.

Are you entering the code by using the feature *3 command?

If not try this:

Feature *3
Press a button that you want that feature on
Then press: Freature 986

Then check it by dialing Feature *0 and press the button to see if it took.
