Need help finding information about how to program an NEC 2400imx, specifically connecting to a different OEM's VoIP phone system using a "TIE" Line. The Tie Line is about a 4' long cable that links an open T-1 port on the NEC to same on the VoIP Switch and giving end users of either system extension to extension dialing and access to v/m. Thoughts and comments welcome!

Why not try something that will be just hard before taking on something like this. You won't just have to get the link working you will then have to consider LCR, trunk to trunk access and even then it would be a basic setup.

No doubt... Great Bob almighty.... I'm certified in the 2400, and *I* wouldn't attempt that without NTAC involved... lol

If your company is instistant on doing the stuff in-house, you may want to talk to them about sending you to the 2400 class. The instructor there is great. It's a 2-week long class (don't know how much it costs, the company paid for it) but I guarantee it's worth the expense to get you certified.

Just my 2¢

Thank you for your recommendation, makes sense except for timeframe crunch.

Even the basic class is still not going to go in-depth on T1 line cards, and all the prgramming that is involved. To do what you have described you would most likely be better off going with No.7 CCIS and this is something that is definetly not an end user setup. to get the correct extension display and voicemail integration to work correctly basic T1 would not be optimal setup.
