We recently aquired a Merlin Magix to our sites. I know notning about them so any help at all would be appreciated. Presently I have to change an extrension number and add features to a 4406D telephone. There is no 4424D= set that I can see by the PBX to use. Can I use any 4424D set to do this or can I do this from the 4406 set...As you can see I need some help and or some documents.....Thanks in advance

You can program some buttons from the set menu display and use some features from the display also. You can search for the 44xx phone user guide. In order to perform system programming you need to have a programming phone 4424LD+ or a 355af adapter connected from admin port on control unit to pc serial port and winspm. If you intend to maintain these the perhaps your best first step is to seek assistance from a qualified business partner to help you setup access to your pbxs.

Do you know where I can get the procedure in order on how to program the merlin? Can you advuise me any deeper than the above..

You can obtain the Manuals from the AVAYA.com website, but they are not very useful to the Non-Telephone-Technoid.

As CarGoSki suggested, a "qualified business partner" or one of us in the Biz maybe worth the expense.

You need a 4424LD+, plugged into the system programming port (which is usually the operator extension) to move extensions around. You can program features onto a phone from the phone itself as CarGoSki stated. It might be worth while to have a technician who knows the system come in and set that up for you, go over some of the basic programming, etc. You can find the manuals at support.avaya.com, but the Merlin Magix manuals are not very user friendly if you have not been trained on the system.
