I am a newbie to the Meridian system and volunteered to be the phone admin. We don't have any manuals that I can refer to for help, so I hope you guys don't mind answering questions in detail a newbie can handle. I have tried searching the forum for answers, but they don't have the kind of detail I need to understand what is being stated.

I need to program a second phone number on a 3903. Key 0 is programmed and I need to program Key 1.

The second thing is to delet a mailbox or disable it so calls do not hear it. And have the phone roll to another number if no one picks up.

Thanks for your help.

What do you need on key 1? To make the phone hunt to another number, change the FDN and HUNT prompt to the desired numer like so;

>ld 20

PT0000
REQ: chg
TYPE: 3904
TN 36 0 6 6
ECHG yes
ITEM fdn 2980
ITEM hunt 2980
ITEM
HNT FNA

I meant to say that Key 0 is programmed with a phone # and that I needed to program Key 1 with a different phone #.

So do this;

ld 20

PT0000
REQ: chg
TYPE: 3904
TN 36 0 6 6
ECHG yes
ITEM Key 1 scr 1111
ITEM
HNT FNA

If this isn't an ACD phone, then you can do an easy change.

REQ: chg
TYPE: 3904 (Set type)
TN x x x X
ECHG yes
ITEM key 1 scr xxxx d (xxxx= your 2nd DN).

For your second questions, remove the FNA and HTD in the CLS of the phone and give your HUNT prompt 000.

another tip- hunt is controled by cls hta (hunt allow) that is the target for a busy station

fdn (forward to number) is controled by cls fna and a timer called rco.. that is the target for ring no answer..

when you want a phone to roll, toss it down a hill.. in this system you have hunt and forward.. sometimes it helps to understand nortels term's.. now your certified, have a great weekend
