I have an employee who will be initiating phone calls and will, on ocassion, need to transfer the caller to a person's home phone #.

My hope was to program a button to call the external # and execute a feature 3 conference and then preferably drop off the line.

At this point I would be satisfied being able to have a button programmed to call the external number and am having little luck with that.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

if you allow conf the phone can conf the outside caller to another outside caller, but can not rls the line. that station provides ana supervision which will drop the call with the answering station

I don't think you will be able to incorporate all of these functions within a single button, but let's see what ideas the other folks may come up with on this forum.

I believe you will have to be able to give external transfer allowed to this person along with a normal transfer button. Obviously this can open up a can of worms that you appear to be trying to avoid.

I'm just trying to keep it simple for them. I can program the external # in the button but not the conf (unless I'm doing something wrong).

Right now it looks like the process would be:

1) Call party #1 and determine if a "transfer" is needed. If not then hang up otherwise ...

2) Hold Party #1.
3) Select a line for party #2 and push an external dial button (Already programmed this).
4) Hold Party #2.
5) Feature 3 to conference them.
6) Mute while they talk (at this point the person initiating the conference has no need to be on the line, but can't see a way around it).
7) RLS and return to step #1.

It's just a little complicated for the person who would be doing it. I have a feeling this can't be improved upon. Perhaps someone will see some flaw in my reasoning and have some other method of getting the job done.
