Have a customer that wants an XMWK on their call center phones for a mailbox they want monitored, but doesn't want the call takers to be able to access the DN for the XMWK on their phone. Thought I've seen this before - program an AOM on the phone, but without an AOM physically attached to it, and program that XMWK's SCR/SCN key on key 16, with the XMWK somewhere on key 1-6,8-15 - this way they're not tying up that DN which seems to cause issues when the ACD phones are make-set busy.

Any thoughts on this - potential for problems/headaches down the road? Running CS1000M 7.65 at this site.

Thanks.

I really don't believe you need the DN of the XMWK to appear on the phone, just the XMWK key, have you tried that? Also having an AOM programmed and not attached will cause errors.

I've seen this out in production many times before without any issues. KCFLHRC suggests that there could be some errors generated, personally I have never seen any alarms resulting from an add on module not physically attached but I could be wrong.

I've never been able to program an XMWK without a corresponding SCN/SCR key on the phone somewhere.

I just built this on a 3904 with an unequipped add on module. Built the SCR on key 32 and the XMWK on key 5. Seems to work fine without errors so far.
