i have been told that in order to change local calls from 7 digits to 10 you must go into main programming and go to form 26 and change ars dialing string but talking to an acct yesterday they said a tech was able to change it from the consule 1000 to di it.any thoughts thanks

yes a tech could change it from the console and would have gone into programming from the console. You can program from the console just can't enter alpha numbers like names. Yes the tech would have gone into form 26 nested form and changed the program there.

Ok so what are the steps on the consule i have to go through to accomplish this please thanks

if you have access to say Procomm or Hyperterm and can access that way it is much easier. Do you know the password? Are you asking how to get into programming and then you know what to do or get in and change it?

Yes i think its the default password i will use the huperterminal and go to form 26 right and change the ars dialing string to 10 digits for.local calling right thanks for the help

And the hyperterminal is through the maintenance port on back of system right thanks
