please can any body help is there a programe tool which can be loaded on to a laptop so you can hook up to the cisco routers and configure them??

There is a tool called "Cisco Configurator"
which is freely available for download at the Cisco CCO site.

It is a GUI, and contains a network configuration wizard for routers.

HELP HAS ANY BODY GOT A COPY OF A is a tool called "Cisco Configurator"

I HAVE TRIED TO DOWN LOAD THIS OF THE CISCO SITE BUT AM UN ABLE TO DO SO IF ANY BODY CAN HELP PLEASE DIRECT ME TO A SITE I CAN DOWNLOAD IT.

Keep in mind this works only for simple configurations. It drops the ball for things like OSPF, NAT and other items.

I agree with wybnormal configmaker is just for simplicity its much more knowledgeable to know the CLI on cisco routers or switches.
