We have a DN for our "Help Desk", which we remote call forward to a Technicians MDECT mobile phones using the following string. #8112344321nnnn# 81 is our FFC for Remote Call Forward, 1234 is the SCPW for the phone being forwarded, 4321 is the DN of the phone being forwarded and nnnn is the number the phone is being forwarded to. We have saved the codes to our DECT phonebooks and simply dial the appropriate one to redirect the Helpdesk DN to a Technician's phone.

This works perfectly, however I now need to do the same using a Meridian 2616. Programming these onto adl keys does not work. The code is correctly shown on the display, but after several seconds "Release and try again" appears on the display and a continuous low tone is sounded. Dialling the Helpdesk number the call still routes to the previously selected phone. I have also attempted to use speed calling, and programmed the codes into the user speed call list. Using the SCU key and entering the speed call code, has the same effect.

Out TelCo helpdesk suggests that the digital set is sending the code to quickly.

I have just tried dialling the code in manually on the 2616, and get a continuous high tone after entering the last digit of the DN to be forwared (i.e. before I can enter the DN I wish to calls forward to)!

Has anybody got any other ideas how I might achieve this?

Regards

Michael

Is this a phontom 500 set you have set up? You will not be able to do the same remote forwarding on a 2616 set.

Trvir1 & GHTROUT, thanks for your replies.

Trvir1, it is a "Real" 500 set, but since I discovered the remote call forward facility, we no longer use the phone, as it's only purpose was to allow us to call forward it to one of our DECT phones.

GHTROUT, I would not wish to use your suggestion as I would not wish to take up (I guess) two of our lines - albeit only for a second or two, every time we change "hit person". Thanks anyway.

I have another idea, which I am about to create a new thread for.

Thanks to you both for taking the time to reply.
