Programing Extension in Virtual LENS

I'm building about 100 DID extensions and 100 Virtual DID's
and I'm using the range 020000 - 020237 for DID's and 020240-020317 for VIRT LENS.

I can use any range for VIRT DID's correct as long as the LENS is used for DID?

I think I already know the answer but I wanted to double check.

I know I can start using 021240-021317 but I wanted to keep the VIRTS in the same LEN RANGE.

You can use any available lens as a virtual just remember to assign TEC = 18 and once you start using a range of LEN's for virtuals do not put card in that slot. It is better to keep your virtuals in LEN's ranges XXX240 thru XXX317 though.

Remember also, that when building virtual extensions, if you want those extensions to appear on phones, the physical extension of the phone should be in the same MG as the virtual you built.

Now, before I get corrected, I know that the new cards and software get around this; but not everyone has new cards and software.

This is a virtual PIM that I'm building these extensions so I can't slot any cards. We purchased it because we're adding more IP phones.

Any special instructions I need to know about VIRT PIMS?

OK - Stupid question alert - I'm new to NEC, but not new to phone systems in general. Why do you want to keep your virtual extensions on those LENs?
I do have a couple of 2400s that I inherited, and work to maintain. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Simple... the older 2400's would allow an appearance of a virtual extension on a station in a different module group.

Very frustrating to work out the symantics of that one in a LARGE system.
