How do I give a user the right install software?

Make them a member of the Domain Admins Security Group, but I do not recommend that.

What I typically do when an end-user needs a piece of software installed is connect to their session via our remote access suite, right-click on the executable and select "Run As...", and type in my credentials.

But if they need administrative or power user rights to run the software (e.g. QuickBooks) create a Security Template for the user to grant them access to only the necessary registry entries and folders/files.

Or you could use Restricted Groups to make them a member of 'local' admins but again it's not really recommended.

What version are you running QB 2007 now supports limited users (at long last).

Well quickbooks is not the program. It is actually an inventory control program.
