I just f-disked my system and re-installed Win2k Pro on a Dual PIII 1gHz system. I upgraded to IE v6 and suddenly after about 10 min of being on line I am gettin' a Program Error that does not allow me to access any web page at all. I still have internet access though, as I am able to ping another site from my Command Prompt. I think it usually happens when I am on websites that I have to log onto with a user name and password. Checking my email, or other "account" type websites give me this message. I think.

The error I am receiving reads: "tmproxy.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created." So I have disabled script debugging in the advanced section of the IE Tools menu and get the same message. I have even installed the IE Service Pack free download from the Microsoft Website. And STILL get it.

The only way to be able to access the net again is for me to restart again.. and that gets REALLY frustrating every 10 minutes.

I am running PC-Cillin with its included "personal firewall". I am behind an SMC Router/switch which also has a firewall. And I am on broadband cable provided by Comcast.

Any ideas why I have access for only 10 minutes at a time? Please help. Thanks.

Update:... I was browsing through NewEgg.com and hadn't even logged into my account yet, just browsing, when I got the same error again. Please help, this is getting seriously frustrating. Thanks a million.

The error is caused by the PC-Illan proxy.

Administrative Tools, Services, find the Tmproxy service. Stop the service and set its startup to 'Disabled.'

You do not need the service.

Thanks a million BCastner for your help. I disabled it,... and now I should be good to go.

I had the same problem with Pc-cillin 2003, But this is with a Hyperthreading 2.4gig processor running Win XP Pro. It is proberly the same problem as hyperthreading as hyperthreading is quite simmilar to Dual processing.
Contact Trend Micro's support staff and ask if Solution 16182 will help your problem, and if the 2003_tmtdi_tmproxy1102.exe File will work in your situation.
