Hello

Can someone shed light on programming DID numbers on a Mitel 3300. Under system administration where do I go next? What forms need to be completed? I am a facilities administrator and only have basic Mitel knowledge please help.

Assuming that the PRI exist and is programmed correctly any you already have working numbers....

If you simply renumber a phone to match whatever digits are being sent to you, it will make the phone a DID phone.

If you don't want to renumber the phone, go into System Speed Call assignment form and program the number there and point it to what ever phone you want.

I always use speeddials.
I really hate the matching extension/DDI stuff, it is not very clear where the call routes too.

Lets say you have 6 digits left then i enter the 6 digits in to the speeldial and enter the destination.
This ofcourse can be matching the last digist but also anything else.

I am still confused. :) For example, if I have internal extension 2910 and I want to assign it a DID number so outside clients can call that extension how do I add that DID number to the internal number? So one Mitel 5312 phone will have an internal extension and DID number.

It depends on what digits are being sent on your PRI link
If they match the extn then you do nothing DDI will work (4 digits sent in match the extn number range)
However if the DDI number does not match the extn the best way is to match it via the system speedcall table.
so lets assume you recieve 6 digits in on your PRI/E1 link and you have 4 digit extns then you can either add the 6 six digit number to the system speedcall table and then match this to your extns.

or you can modify the incoming number to match your extn via the Trunk service form.

e.g. incoming number 123456 extn number 3456 you absorb 2 digits in the trunk service form (numbers match)
or you can also modify the number to something different
e.g. incoming 123456 extn number 8456 you absorb 3 digits and insert an 8 in the trunk service form. (numbers match)

Go to speeddials and add one.
Then enter the DDI with the amount of digits that is configured on the PRI.
Then enter the extension number as the destination.

The speeddials form that is referred to by tlpeter and dryaquaman is found under system administration tool correct? Once you log into system administration tool select view alphabetically and scroll down to "system speed calls"? Then I see 4 columns
speed call number, actual number, overrides toll control and type. Is this the form you guys are referring to? Thanks to all for your feedback.

Yes that is the correct form
