I'm using WinSPM 8.0 and trying to duplicate the programming behind one button on an existing extension to a button on a new extension. An extension copy doesn't work.

The programming on that button reads 'Line 832 -I' in WinSPM. Anyone know what feature this is or how I can duplicate on my new extension?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Can't line copy from an operator phone to a regular extension. Have to put the line on under the extensions menu. It is a line appearance for the 32nd line of your switch.

system prog...start or exit...extensions...lines/trunks...{{enter in extension you want to program}}...enter...entry mode...{{type in trunk...832}}...enter.

That will add 832 to the next avaible button on that extension after all SA buttons and existing trunks, if you need it on another button, then get back to me...that gets a little complicated. OR, you could just use line copy instead assuming they are the same type phone.

jinxs:

Is it possible to put line appearances in different places?

Specifically, I want my MLX-16's and 28D's to have line appearances all the way up the left-hand side.

I was under the impression that was impossible, but is there some sort of cheat? :)

OK, here's the deal...

You must understand the way the buttons are laid out on both types of phones to make this work.

Picture a 20 button MLX set.

4 rows of 5 buttons.

MLX 16 is 2 rows of 5 buttons with 3 more buttons on top of each of the original 2 rows.

LIKE THIS:

13 16
12 15
11 14
5 10
4 9
3 8
2 7
1 6

---- - -- - - -

GOT IT ?

Now for the 28D

22 24 26 28
21 23 25 27
5 10 15 20
4 9 14 19
3 8 13 18
2 7 12 17
1 6 11 16

That's how those sets are laid out.

Does that answer your question?

For instance, to assign a line to button 21, you must fill up buttons 1 thru 20 with something that can not be overwritten (LINE OR SA BUTTON).

jinxs - that worked, thanks alot!
Now what exactly is that doing, just programming that button to go out on line 832?

too add to merlinman, if you want a console's lines laid out that way but they are in a pool, when you add the trunks, it will assign them in button numerical order....in order to add them the way you want, remove them from the pool, add the buttons to the console, then add back into the pool.

You added the line apperance to the phone, do you want to select that line first?? If that is the case, then you need to use auto-line selection.

Go to the phone...dial feature 00, select the button with the line on it...dial *14 press the button with the line on it again, then select your SA, or intercom or whatever the person installing you system called it, now dial **14. Lift the reciever and hang it up. Now, you will notice the nifty red light is next to the line, so when you pick up the reciever, you will go off hook on line 832 first. Hope that helps if that was what you were looking for.
