Prog Hunt Group on incoming lines

I am trying to program a hunt group for the incoming lines. I have the hunt group built and it works fine from an extension but will not ring when the outside lines ring. I have programmed the lines to assigned under Line assignment but no ring. What am I missing?

Did you actually assign the lines to the hunt group?
Also, the lines should not be assigned to the set, even if they are ring only. When you said works from an extension, did you test it by dialing the hunt group DN?, or???????????

If you have the same lines assigned to the hunt group as the lines assigned 'appear only' then they will not ring. The 'appear only' setting will override any hunt group ringing on incoming lines.

I hate this dumb feature and hope that Nortel will change it soon (PLEASE!!)

You will have to remove the line appearances from the set and just have hunt group keys - if you want the hunt groups to ring on incoming calls.

This must be the problem. I have the lines assigned as appear only on the operators phone so she can press the line key and test for dial tone if needed. It also gives her a visual of how many lines are in use. I will remove them monday and see.
