We have approximately 250 Windows 2000 PC's in the school. Around 3000 users have the same mandatory profile which resides on the Windows 2000 server.
Now, I've just added 20 Windows XP Pro machines onto the domain, and all is well until students log on and, obviously, automatically downloading the W2K profile, which can make the PC crash on occasions, and sync errors pop up every time you log off!
Is there any way to set up a new XP profile and only have it load if a student logs onto the XP machines, and alternatively, the W2K profile if logging onto a Windows 2000 Pro machine.
Any help appreciated.

Have you tried putting the XP Machines in a seperate OU?

Thanks for the reply, but would moving the Computer into a new OU allow me to use a different profile? Please tell me how as I thought you could only assign a group policy to an OU.

Thanks
