Hi

Have network running XP thatI've taken over. I've noticed that if I click on my Documents or select save in any software I'm routed to a user folder on a 2003 server.

Is this done using profiles?

They do not run exchange but outlook pop3 on each workstation. Today I was called on site and every workstations outlook password was invalid and had to be put in again.

All the systems are running Sophos so no virus, I was wondering if the pop3 passwords could be being stored on the server and hence one corruption would affect all workstations.

Has anyone any thoughts?

cheers

Ian

Configuring Roaming User Profiles

as to the Outlook problem, it is possible that a certain key in the Registry was deleted, as described in Method 3 under: Save password setting not retained in Outlook or Outlook Express
It is also just possible that the Outlook Password was stored on the Servers copy of the Profile...

All the systems are running Sophos so no virus,
it is unlikely but NOT impossible... Sophos as well as other AV applications are only as good as their Viral Definitions are up to date...
