Profile problem

When we log into the servers desktop the original profile is no longer loading, instead a new profile has been created.
The old profiles files are still present in the "documents and settings" folder, and the profile is still listed in the user profiles in my computer - but its status is "backup" instead of local.
Any ideas?

one thiong you can check is the permissions on the orginal profile if they look ok remove them and try to readd them back or you can just right click my computer goto properties advanced tab and copy of the orgnial to the newal created profile

permissions appear fine.
I cannot copy the old profile to the new administrator profile as I'm logged in on that profile so there are files in use (ntuser.dat)
