Is there a way to check what product key was used to activate XP? On our office computers im making a computer log and am trying to figure out which keys were used and not used so when i make new systems i dont duplicate the key.

You used to be able 2 find it through the REGEDIT program,
My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

Unfortunately this now gives your the ProductID in its true from. There maybe programs out there to download which will search for the Product Key but where you will find it from I don't know might be worth searching for:

Windows XP Key Search.

Other than that there isn't another way as far as I know.
Microsoft can be funny about these for some reason!? :)

Thanx worked well... i do have a slight question though... when i went to the Office portion it had office xp #1 and #2 does that mean it was installed on this machine twice?

Bill

Office is installed via 2 CD's. Perhaps it is a reference to disk 1 and 2?

If sunflower oil comes from sunflowers, and vegetable oil comes from vegetables, where does baby oil come from?

Markso could be right, I think it is the CDs, but then again, it may be the service packs (thats assuming you've applied these).
