procs vs dynamic sql 2

1. Using NH Prof I copied the sql queries in question to QA.
2. I reviewed the exeuction plans.
3. Then I created/removed indexes and ran the query in QA.
4. I then compared execution plans. As long a cluster became an index or a scan became a seek I was happy.

I was able to reduce the duration of my integration test suite from ~3 minutes to just over 2 minutes.

I copy/pasted the index changes into a script file which I can run against production when I deploy. I also adjusted some of my queries in code and ran them through my test to ensure the queries did not break. This is all very manual, but for my first attempt it's acceptable.

Indexing is definitely an art that comes with experience.
